A shinkansen stopped on a route between Tokyo and northeastern Japan, the railway operator JR East said Thursday, with the bullet train’s cars found disengaged at the site. The train on the Tohoku Shinkansen Line stopped between Furukawa and Sendai stations in Miyagi Prefecture. JR East is checking to determine whether there was a derailment. The company stopped all bullet train services between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori in Aomori Prefecture for inspection.
