HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Sheriff Chad Chronister and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Deputy Darell Brown following a fatal crash on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Deputy Brown, 40, was tragically killed in a collision with a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 301 in Thonotosassa. He had served with HCSO since 2015, most recently in the Booking Unit at the Orient Road Jail.
