Shinkansen bullet train services have been suspended on a section of track in western Japan due to delays in maintenance work, operator JR West said Monday. Trains on the Sanyo Shinkansen Line were halted between Hiroshima and Kokura stations early morning, said the company, which expects to resume services in the afternoon. A maintenance vehicle got stuck on the tracks during the work to replace overhead wires between Asa and Shin-Shimonoseki stations in Yamaguchi Prefecture, it said.
