Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and his deputy Valeria Ionan met with Liam Maxwell, Director of Government Transformation at Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is the first visit of the top management to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

“Amazon Web Services is our strategic partner. In 2022, we signed a memorandum to support Ukraine’s digital infrastructure during the war. Since February 2022, AWS has provided $75 million worth of assistance in the form of cloud services, products, and educational initiatives,” Fedorov said.

According to him, today 38 state registries and 24 universities use AWS cloud solutions to back up their data. This makes it possible to guarantee the continuity of important services even during the war.

In turn, Diia also uses AWS to back up its system, which ensures service resilience during possible disruptions due to shelling or power outages.
