Eighty years ago, the First Czechoslovak Fighter Aviation Zvolen Regiment landed with Soviet-made Lavochkin La-5FN aircraft at the rebel airfield near the village of Zolná, which is now part of Zvolen. The Zolná airport served as a silent companion to suppress enemy troops to the nearby Tri Duby airport in Sliač, which became the main target of attacks during the Slovak National Uprising (SNP).
