A driver has died after a serious crash which closed a busy route in both directions. Emergency services, including police, the fire service, and paramedics, were called to part of the A2 and M2 at around 2.35am. A black VW Tiguan was travelling on the coastbound carriageway near the slip road for the A289 towards Wainscott when it collided with the central barrier and a bridge parapet. A 29-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
