Everton’s relationship with PSR has been a chequered one, although there are few Premier League clubs who really enjoy this particular set of rules. After all, it only really serves the bigger teams, with their unlimited commercial revenue allowing them to spend as freely as they desire. Meanwhile, clubs like the Toffees, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have all been forced to sell to fund any progression or stability despite all having vastly wealthy owners.
