The recreational harvest season for greater amberjack in the Gulf of Mexico is coming to a close. Anglers have until October 31st to catch this popular sport fish, as the season closes in both state and federal waters starting November 1st. This closure is part of a new, shorter season designed to help rebuild the greater amberjack population.
