Bolt will invest €100 million over three years to develop products, support customers, raise awareness of safety features, and scale up preventive measures to prevent incidents.

Bolt pays special attention to the safety of its drivers and passengers. That’s why there’s a special section on the company’s website that details the new safety features for drivers: https://bolt.eu/uk-ua/driver/safety/ and passengers: https://bolt.eu/uk-ua/rider/safety/

Ride safety

Today, Bolt employs a team of more than 500 professionals who are responsible for the safety of all Bolt users – both passengers and drivers. The core team is located at Bolt’s headquarters in Tallinn and brings together specialists and experts from various fields, from software development to operations management. They work hard every day to develop new features that improve the safety system and respond quickly to any challenges to make Bolt rides as safe as possible.

“Ride safety is Bolt’s number one priority. Having committed to invest €100 million in this area over three years, we understand that this requires a comprehensive approach in all aspects of our business in the Ukrainian market,” says Sergiy Pavlyk, Head of Ride-Hailing at Bolt Ukraine.

That is why, according to him, the security team at the head office will focus its efforts on product development, customer support, and scaling up preventive measures to prevent incidents.

“We will continue to raise awareness of our security tools through educational campaigns to draw attention to the features in the app.”

Adding new features

New features will be added to the Bolt app in the near future to make your rides even safer. In addition, the trip monitoring system will be improved to automatically detect any deviations from the route or delays.

The Trusted Contacts feature will also be available, allowing you to share information about your trip with loved ones if necessary.

Collaboration with experts

Bolt cooperates with external experts and public organizations to raise awareness of security issues. Last year, the company signed a memorandum of cooperation with the NGO La Strada Ukraine, which provides for the implementation of a number of joint initiatives aimed at preventing violence and creating a safer environment for all Bolt users.

“We are pleased that business is joining forces with the public sector to achieve common socially important goals. We are confident that cooperation with Bolt will strengthen our efforts to combat violence in Ukraine,” emphasizes Kateryna Cherepakha, Head of La Strada Ukraine.
