At least 10 people were killed Friday when Israeli airstrikes hit the Baalbeck-Hermel region in eastern Lebanon, security sources and eyewitnesses said. The Lebanese Health Ministry said the strikes wounded 28 others. Security sources said some 16 Israeli airstrikes targeted the ancient city of Baalbeck and the Hermel region, Hezbollah strongholds. Israeli airstrikes also hit areas in southern Lebanon and especially the port city of Tyre. In retaliation, Hezbollah claimed to have fired dozens of rockets at Israeli posts in northern Israel.
