An Arizona man has been sentenced to eight months in prison for making a false statement during the purchase of firearms that were later used in hate crimes against Jewish community members in California. Eric Celaya, 30, of Phoenix, pleaded guilty to making a material false statement during the purchase of a firearm. In January 2023, Celaya purchased two firearms from a licensed dealer in Tempe, Arizona, falsely claiming he was the actual buyer. He then provided the firearms to Jamie Tran.
