The Adamawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has started an offensive against non-journalist private and commercial drivers allegedly using the union’s stickers to deceive law enforcement agents. The union said in a communique on its meeting during the weekend in Yola that such drivers place the stickers on their windscreens and lie to police and other law enforcement officers that they are journalists, a ploy to obtain forgiveness for punishable offences.
