Tokyo stocks opened higher Thursday, extending the previous day’s gains, as a rally on Wall Street overnight pushed major U.S. stock indexes to record highs following Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 263.90 points, or 0.67 percent, from Wednesday to 39,744.57.
