Rail traffic in Germany was largely stable on Saturday following a 24-hour strike which brought the country’s rail network to a near-standstill. It was the fourth such strike this year, amid an ongoing dispute between the Train Drivers’ Union (GDL) and state-owned rail operator Deutsche Bahn (DB). “Since the start of operations early Saturday morning, DB has resumed its normal timetable for long-distance, regional and suburban rail services,” the operator announced in the early hours, noting that isolated delays were still possible.
