By Joe Smith A major Iranian-backed militia has said it wants to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East after US airstrikes on targets in Iraq and Syria. The US hit more than 85 targets using more than 125 munitions at sites used by Iranian-backed militias and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in an attempt to deter further attacks on their forces while stopping short of sparking a new conflict in the region.
