El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has declared himself the winner of the presidential election in the Central American country. Bukele wrote on Sunday evening on the online platform X, formerly Twitter, that he has been re-elected with more than 85% of the vote. His Nuevas Ideas New Ideas party also won at least 58 of paliament’s 60 seats. Official election results were not initially available.
