Councillors observed Holocaust Memorial Day at their meeting last week with a ‘thought for the day’ speech and the lighting of a candle. Cllr Salvatore Pagdades, who is an ambassador for the Holocaust Educational Trust charity, spoke poignantly before a full meeting of Sawbridgeworth Town Council, stating how essential it is to remember victims but also to “reaffirm our pledge to never forget and to stand against hatred and antisemitism”.
