A lorry driver was rescued from their vehicle after it became stranded on the flooded Welney Wash Road yesterday morning. Firefighters from King’s Lynn, Methwold, Outwell and Littleport rescued the person, having received reports that they were stuck on the A1101 at 5.16am. A stop message – meaning the incident was under control – was received at 6.40am. It came on the day that the volunteer-run Welney Flood Watch group said that the water levels were at 3.35m.
