A 26-year-old New Jersey man enlisted in the U.S. Air Force died over the weekend while swimming in a river in Georgia, officials said. Daniel Romain, of Newark, was swimming in the Ocmulgee River at Amerson River Park in Macon shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday when he went under the water, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Local authorities searched for Roman, of Newark, until about 7:30 p.m. before resuming the following morning.
