Bastian Schweinsteiger will take over from the late Franz Beckenbauer as patron of a charity golf tournament, the event confirmed on Friday. Founded in the 1980s, the tournament has raised some €2.5 million ($2.7 million) for the Franz Beckenbauer Foundation.
