The annual No Mow May campaign is back for 2024 – when gardeners are asked to do nothing but let the weeds grow. Instead of mowing, weeding and strimming Kent residents can give insects a chance to feed and pollinate. The campaign is run by the charity Plantlife aims to allow wild flowers blossom from May 1 through to early summer. Organisers say that even leaving a small section of lawn uncut can make a difference to plant and insect life.
