More than 1,000 alphorn players have set a world record for the largest alphorn ensemble on a meadow in Switzerland, the Swiss Yodelling Association said on Saturday. The association, which also represents alphorn players, aimed to break a record from 2013, when 508 players performed together on the Rohrberg ridge near Zermatt. They had planned for 550 musicians, but almost twice as many registered from both domestic and international locations.
