Four starving and abused pit bulls found in Cumberland County earlier this month are recovering and looking for permanent homes, according to a local shelter. On Feb. 6, state troopers responded to an animal complaint at a home on Fairton-Millville Pike in Fairfield Township. They found four dogs in poor health in woods near the property, police said. All of the dogs are owned by a 43-year-old Pittsgrove man, who now faces animal cruelty charges, a third-degree crime, according to New Jersey State Police.
