A Labour MP who once called out “rogue landlords” has been forced to apologise after it emerged his tenants were living in flats infested with ants ant and riddled with mould. Jas Athwal, who won his Ilford South seat with a majority of 6,896, issued a lengthy apology in which he confirmed he will be “reimbursing every tenant” for repairs and renewals.
