Midday voter turnout for the state elections in Germany’s Thuringia on Sunday was 32% – about the same as it was for the last election five years ago, when 31.2% of voters had cast their ballot by noon, local election officials said. The figures do not include absentee ballots. Still, the 32% shows more interest in the state election than was seen in June for the European Parliament election or for municipal elections this year. In June election voter turnout at midday was 24.3%.
