Business confidence among major Japanese manufacturers in September remained unchanged from three months earlier with the index staying at 13, the Bank of Japan’s Tankan survey showed Tuesday. The sentiment index for companies such as carmakers and technology companies matched the average market forecast in a Kyodo News survey. The index for large nonmanufacturers, including the service sector, rose to 34 from 33 in June, according to the central bank.
