More than two years after the Taliban took control in Afghanistan, threats from terrorist groups remain in the country, the US Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) reported on Thursday. The report, which is published quarterly, names threats from the extremist militia organizations Islamic State, the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), which operates independently of Kabul, and the al-Qaeda terrorist network.
