A night of horror for millions of animals, is how a German environmental group summed up New Year’s Eve, in a country known for the dangerous use of fireworks at the turn of the year. The group, Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH), also reiterated its call for a ban on fireworks in a statement issued on Monday.
