A recent leak from a well-known insider Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed some details about the upcoming OnePlus Buds Pro 3. According to the leak, OnePlus is planning to release these true wireless earbuds alongside the OnePlus 13 smartphone.
The Buds Pro 3 are rumored to have a dual dynamic driver setup, including an 11mm woofer and a 6mm tweeter. This is the same driver setup as the Buds Pro 2, and OnePlus will likely continue to work with Dynaudio to customize the sound.
In terms of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), DCS suggests that the Buds Pro 3 will offer a maximum noise cancellation depth of 50 dB, which is only a slight increase from the 48 dB of the Pro 2.
However, the Buds Pro 3 may not be ideal for gamers as the leak suggests that they will have a latency of 94ms, which is significantly lower than the 54ms of the Buds Pro 2. It’s unusual to see latency drop in a new model, as we usually expect improvements.
Still, in terms of battery, the Buds Pro 3 are said to offer up to 43 hours of playback with the charging case. Additionally, a 10-minute fast charge will provide 5 hours of playback, which is a handy feature for users who are constantly on the go.
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 leak also indicates support for the LHDC 5.0 audio codec, which boasts a 1 Mbps bit rate and the ability to handle 192 kHz/24-bit lossless wireless audio. Other expected features include IP55 dust and water protection, as well as Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity for improved stability.
Although the information comes from a reliable source, it is still a leak, so these details should be treated with caution. The OnePlus 13 is expected to be launched around December this year, and that’s when we might see the release of the Buds Pro 3 if the leak is true.
