World record holder Liu Yukun claimed gold for China in the men’s rifle three positions event at the Paris Olympics. Liu totalled 463.6 points at the Chateauroux shooting centre in the event where the athletes aim at a target from 50 metres in prone, kneeling and standing position. It was China’s third Paris gold from four contested men’s events. He won ahead of Ukraine’s Serhiy Kulish who had 461.3 points. Kulish is the 2022 world champion and got a second silver, following that in the air rifle 2016 in Rio. Swapnil Kusale got bronze for India’s third shooting medal.
