Lower sales pushed German metal distributor Klöckner & Co SE into the red in the first half of the year compared to the same period of the previous year. Klöckner reported on Thursday a net loss from continuing operations of €26 million ($28 million), or €0.27 per share, for the first half, compared with net income of €39 million, or €0.39 per share, last year, mainly due to decreased sales.
