The leaders of the US House of Representatives and Senate have invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress, despite major splits in the US public over the war in Gaza. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, a Republican, sent Netanyahu a formal invitation on Friday. The letter was also signed by the top Democrats and Republicans in both chambers.
