Nottingham Forest had a pretty quiet transfer deadline day choosing to sign two players; Morato from Benfica and James Ward-Prowse on loan from West Ham. The Reds did try for a number of other players, with a striker the order of the day. Santiago Gimenez, Eddie Nketiah and Omar Marmoush were all targeted at some point but to no avail.
