A longtime Union City teacher who sits on the Secaucus Board of Education has been charged with drinking while driving, authorities said. Police say Joseph Lewis, 47, of Secaucus, was asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle that was idling in the area of Sampson Place at 1:56 a.m. on Christmas Eve. Police eventually woke up Lewis, who was charged with the DWI and five other motor vehicle violations, Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
