Trading in the shares of Chinese property developer Country Garden were halted on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Tuesday. Country Garden said in a statement to the stock exchange that trading had been suspended as it had missed the deadline to post last year’s earnings. In February, Country Garden confirmed its creditor Ever Credit Limited had filed a winding-up petition before a court in Hong Kong.
