Germany’s Bitkom digital association has distanced itself from the political positions of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) and warned of the consequences of implementing the party’s demands. Germany’s digital economy would be damaged and its international competitiveness massively impaired if the AfD’s programme and positions voiced by its representatives were translated into policy, according to a position paper published by Bitkom.
