We are just days away from the launch of Google’s new Pixel line of devices. We’ve already seen a lot of details about the Pixel 9 lineup. Now, thanks to a report from Android Headlines, we have the last piece of the Pixel Watch 3 puzzle: the price.
As previously reported, Google is expected to release two models of the Pixel Watch 3: a standard size and a larger variant, possibly called the Pixel Watch 3 XL.
The smaller model, likely to measure 41 mm, will reportedly cost from $349 for the Wi-Fi version, unchanged from its predecessor. However, the LTE-enabled model has gone up by $50 and will cost $449. The larger Pixel Watch 3 XL with a diagonal of 45 mm will cost $399 for the Wi-Fi model and $499 for the LTE version.
The Pixel Watch 3 series is sold at a higher price compared to some competitors. For example, the recently released Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 starts at a lower price of $299 for the 40mm version with Wi-Fi only support. Google categorizes Pixel watches as a premium segment, and this trend looks set to continue with the release of the Pixel Watch 3.
Apart from the price, previous leaks hinted at several new features and updates for the Pixel Watch 3. Both models will feature an Actua display with a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits, which is an improvement over its predecessor’s 1,000-nit AMOLED screen.
In terms of features, the Google Pixel Watch 3 will have the ability to view the nested calls and cameras on the watch for added convenience. Users will be able to access Maps offline and use Google Wallet for payments. In addition, the smartwatch will allow users to control the camera of the Pixel phone, switching between photo and video modes.
For health and fitness tracking, the Google Pixel Watch 3 will support advanced running metrics, including custom runs, audio and haptic prompts, and various fitness metrics. The device will have a readiness indicator to determine whether you are ready for a workout or need to rest. Cardio will measure your heart rate to assess whether you’re undertrained or overtrained.
Google is also introducing a new Morning Brief feature that summarizes every metric, including sleep quality and readiness score. The Pixel Watch 3 is reported to have a battery life of 24 hours with AOD mode enabled and 36 hours in battery saving mode.
