Activists close to Alexei Navalny, a prominent critic of the Kremlin who died in a Russian prison camp earlier this year, have said they are happy about the historic prisoner exchange that took place on Thursday between Western states and Russia. Numerous opposition figures held in Russia were part of the exchange, which came too late however for Navalny, who before his death was Russian President Vladimir Putin’s most vocal critic.
