German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is to meet Pope Francis in the Vatican on Saturday. Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church, will receive Scholz for an hour-long private audience at around 11 am (1000 GMT) in the Vatican, their first such meeting. Neither Scholz’s office nor the Vatican announced what topics would be discussed.
