Samsung is working on a new Galaxy A series smartphone. The Galaxy A16 5G has already been spotted in the IMEI database and by the British operator EE. Now the device has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. It reveals the key hardware details of the upcoming novelty. Galaxy A16 5G will replace last year’s Galaxy A15 5G.

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has appeared on Geekbench under the model number SM-A166P. The database mentions a motherboard codenamed a16xm. It consists of six cores with a clock frequency of 2 GHz and two cores with a clock frequency of 2.40 GHz. This suggests that the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. It is listed with 6 GB of RAM on board, and we can expect more options at launch. The device will ship with Android 14 out of the box.
According to the results of the single-core and multi-core Geekbench tests, Samsung Galaxy A16 5G scores 512 and 1,464 points, respectively. The benchmarking platform does not disclose any additional details of the smartphone. According to the list of UK operators, the Galaxy A16 is also expected to be available in a 4G version.
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G features a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It is equipped with a Dimensity 6100+ chipset with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The device is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W charging support.
