Firefighters have spent more than seven hours extinguishing hay bales that caught alight. People are being advised to close windows and doors near Rye Street in Cliffe due to the smoke. Three fire engines were sent to the scene at around midnight. Since then, crews have spent hours extinguishing the flames.
