Fewer and fewer people in Germany need to be treated in hospital for cancer, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said on Friday. In 2022, only around 1.4 million patients were treated in hospital for this reason in 2022, the data office said. “This means that the number of inpatient cancer treatments fell once again to the lowest level in the past 20 years,” the statisticians reported on Friday, ahead of World Cancer Day this Sunday.
