Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 16 series in September this year. However, a leaked live image of the base model has already shown color options. The image also confirms rumors of a redesigned camera island. You can check out the image below.
iPhone 16 will come in white instead of yellow
As you can see in the image, the iPhone 16 will be available in five different colors – white, black, blue, green, and pink. For comparison, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are available in yellow instead of white.
In addition to the color options, the design of the back panel is significantly different from its predecessor due to the changed location of the cameras. However, this was done not to update the appearance, but to expand the functionality of the camera system.
iPhone 16 basically confirms support for spatial video
As you probably know, last year’s professional models can record spatial video thanks to the repositioning of the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras. When the ultra-wide-angle and main cameras are positioned vertically, the phone can record spatial video. Last year’s non-professional models offered a diagonal arrangement of the ultra-wide-angle and main cameras, which is not compatible with the video recording function.
Therefore, the company has finally changed the camera layout in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus to support this feature.
As for the camera resolution, it is expected to be 48 megapixels for the main camera and 48 megapixels (1/2.6″) for the ultra-wide-angle camera. For comparison, last year’s non-Pro models were equipped with 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera sensors. While the main camera will have the same resolution, it will reportedly use a larger 1/1.14″ sensor (Sony IMX903 sensor) compared to the 1/1.56″ used in previous models. The 1/1.14″ sensor is reportedly even larger than the main 1/1.28″ sensor in the iPhone 15 Pro. However, this is still a rumor and you should take it with a grain of salt.
