Nintendo Co. said Friday its net profit for the three months to June dropped 55.3 percent from a year earlier to 80.95 billion yen ($543 million), weighed down by lower sales of game consoles and software. Sales fell 46.5 percent to 246.64 billion yen, the company said. Nintendo maintained its earnings forecast for the year ending March next year, continuing to expect a 38.9 percent drop in net profit to 300 billion yen.
