Little Hadham’s MP Sir Oliver Heald has announced that he will not be standing as a Conservative candidate at the next General Election. The 69-year-old has represented North East Herts since the constituency was created in 1997, replacing the North Herts seat he had held since 1992. After 32 years in the House of Commons, he has written to the chair of North East Herts Conservative Association, Lynda Needham and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to explain he wants to spend more time with his grandchildren.
