There was a rise in net income at Swiss telecom company Swisscom AG in the first quarter compared to the same period of last year. The company reported first quarter net income of 455 million Swiss francs ($496 million), an increase of 2.9% from last year. Earnings per share was 8.78 francs compared to 8.53 francs.
