Kent golfers missed out in final qualifying for The Open. Sixteen places were up for grabs across four venues to join the field at Royal Troon later this month. But there were no spots for the Kent contingent in action over 36 holes on Tuesday. Royal Cinque Ports in Kent was among the venues chosen, where Thanet’s Max Orrin (The Drift) finished three-over-par after rounds of 74 and 73. He finished a shot clear of Canterbury’s Josh Bristow, a PGA trainee at Queenwood in Surrey, who went round in 77 and 71.
