One of the biggest running races in the region was held at the weekend as the Midlands Cross Country Championships featured some of the best runners in the country. The event was held in Newbould Comyn in Leamington Spa and was a tough course run over 12k which included a water crossing, plenty of mud and rolling hills. Newark Athletic Club sent six athletes, who finished in fourth place. The team managed to beat many larger clubs and a spokesman from the club said it was an impressive achievement.
