Ukrainian athlete Mykhaylo Kokhan has successfully advanced from the hammer throw qualification round to the final. The qualification round was held in two groups of 16 athletes each. Ukrainian athlete Mykhaylo Kokhan was in the same group as Wojciech Nowicki, the winner of the previous Olympic hammer throw event.
