The Cove beach area of Brigantine, just across the Absecon Inlet from Atlantic City, has been further restricted to swimmers after persistent erosion uncovered dangerous debris, Brigantine Mayor Vince Sera said in a Facebook post Thursday. “Due to changing and unpredictable conditions, city officials have made a decision to further restrict access to the cove beach erosion area,” Sera said in the post. “It appears that a large structure was demolished and dumped in the water nearly a century ago and is just now being revealed by changing tides and erosion,” Sera explained in the post.
